Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to local officials.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after nights of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
